Values/Therapist Experience
Hey there-I’m glad you’re seeking meaningful change!
Values matter deeply to me. I believe we all deserve a life that’s aligned with what we actually care about - not just one we’re surviving.
My work is shaped by lived experience. And I don’t just mean the clinical parts (over 20 years in mental health across community, Department of Defense, and VA settings). I mean the messy parts too.
I served on active duty for 10 years. I’ve been part of systems that led to trauma and burnout — the kind that leaves you f*%^ing exhausted, beaten down, and unsure how you’re supposed to keep carrying anything at all.
Aligning my life with my values has taken a lot of work. It’s been hard, worthy, and deeply human work.
Being a therapist has always been my version of living the dream. I feel real purpose in working with people who are willing to show up and do the bold, honest work therapy requires. It’s never lost on me that holding space for someone’s story is a sacred practice.
Supporting clients through burnout, trauma, and life transitions requires a relationship that is safe, authentic, and grounded. I believe therapy works best when both therapist and client show up as real people.
I also believe every person I work with has innate wisdom and strengths that deserve to be centered in the process. Therapists should seek their own therapy, and research consistently shows that good fit between client and therapist is one of the strongest predictors of success.
Approach
I aim to work to help my clients realize their existing strengths, set goals that align with their own values and create a meaningful life. Therapy is is a relationship and is about growth and not perfection or optimization. It is absolutely not about learning to “push through”.
The clinical stuff
I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to individualize care. My approach is trauma-informed and includes:Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Nervous system regulation skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Somatic and body-based approaches
I am licensed in Texas as an LCSW-Supervisor (#66113).

In Between SessionOutside of work, you’ll usually find me entertaining my two elementary-aged kids, trying out a new coffee spot, or squeezing in a day date with my husband - ideally followed by an early bedtime.
I go to the movies often enough to have free popcorn status, which I consider a major life accomplishment and brag about unapologetically. I also love comedy, outdoor walks (when it’s not a million degrees), and staying connected with family and friends.
